Overview
This hilarious and quirky tale follows the lives of a group of high school students in southern California in the early 1980's. Some of the kids are looking for love--like Mark and Stacy (with the help of their friends, who are sometimes helpful, but sometimes not) while others, like Brad, are trying to find the perfect after-school job. Then there's the quintessential so-cal surfer dude Jeff Spicoli, who spends his last year in school dueling his strict history teacher Mr. Hand, who thinks everyone is "on dope." While generally funny and lighthearted, some of the darker sides of teenage life are explored. In the end, however, all the kids learn that life gets better, sometimes when they least expect it.
