Overview
The Be Kind Rewind video store, owned by one Mr. Fletcher, is in danger of going out of business and being demolished. This is in part because the store refuses to rent DVDs. Mr. Fletcher leaves town and warns his employee, Mike, against letting his friend Jerry in their store. After an accident at an electrical substation that makes Jerry magnetized, he comes into the store and manages to erase all of the content of the tapes. Mike and Jerry start to film cheap recreations of the movies using the tapes. They start to turn a tidy profit from the tapes and might be able to save the business, but they run into trouble with copyright laws. Can they still save their store?
