Overview
This captivating and intricately woven tale follows the parallel lives of three women, living at different times, as they struggle to find happiness in their lives and in a world which they are not sure they understand. It begins in 1923, with Virginia Wolfe, struggling with depression, her sexuality, and thoughts of running away to London, all while writing her novel "Mrs. Dalloway". In 1951, a woman who is reading the novel grapples with thoughts of leaving her husband and children for her own sake, or remaining with them but risking her happiness. In 2001, a publisher nicknamed "Mrs. Dalloway," herself a lesbian, has conflicting romatic feelings for a client of hers. These three story lines are wound seamlessly together, often paralleling the novel itself.
