Overview
When Midwestern writer Nick Carraway moves to Long Island, city life sweeps him off his feet. In particular, he becomes intrigued with the lavish parties hosted by the mysterious Jay Gatsby. With rumors abound regarding the source of Gatsby’s fortune, Carraway is drawn deeper and deeper into the intrigue of becoming one of New York’s socialites. The divide between old and new money becomes eminently clear when Gatsby’s long-lost love--and Carraway’s cousin--Daisy Buchanan enters the picture, and Carraway becomes the sole witness to Gatsby’s unrequited longing.
