Overview
As a man struggling with leukemia, Victor Geddes has the intelligence and money to be as comfortable as possible while searching out new treatments to save his life. He is extremely lonely and convinces his father to hire a nurse. Hilary O'Neil has a broken heart and is looking for a distraction. Answering the nurse wanted ad, she is not initially hired by Victor's dad. Victor finds Hilary intriguing and secretly hires her on against his father's decisions. As a dutiful caregiver, Hilary nurses Victor through numerous chemotherapy sessions. Seemingly well, Victor announces that his treatment is complete, to the delight of Hilary. She slowly realizes that Victor has given up on treatment as his leukemia worsens. Hilary wants to save his life, but Victor must want that for himself.
