Overview
When a judge commits suicide and his secretary is found dead shortly thereafter, a town is left wondering what occurred. The authorities quickly place the charge on a homeless man for the murder of the secretary. The gentleman, Carl Anderson, is also deaf, which would make defending him extremely challenging. Without the funds to hire an attorney, Carl must rely on the representation of Kathleen. Kathleen is a public defender who assists low-income defendants as assigned by the courts. Kathleen’s compassion shines through as she tries to help Carl defend himself in the murder case and track down the real killer. With the help of a congressional advisor, Kathy gets closer to the truth, and she also learns the corrupt ways of the elite world.
