Overview
A married couple tries desperately to have children, but they cannot. The husband, Andy, runs into a high school friend who is also a doctor. The doctor has just saved the life of a girl who was almost killed by a serial rapist. Having slight trouble with paying the bills, the husband invites this high school friend, Jed, to rent part of his home with him and his wife. Later on, the wife ends up hospitalized with some problems that could leave her unable to have children ever again. The married couple are engulfed in a series of mind bending and heart wrenching events as the plot quickly changes from a happy normal married life to two people trying their best to survive in a world of rape and murder.
