Overview
Struggling to survive in harsh frontier of the Pacific Northwest during the 19th century, a lonely cook and a Chinese immigrant forge an unlikely friendship. Intrigued by a glimpse at the lone cow brought into their territory by a rich landowner, they conspire to make some money by stealing its milk to use in the baked goods they sell to unsuspecting townspeople. As they build their wealth and dream of a better life, their friendship deepens and they risk everything to escape the unforgiving landscape in which they find themselves.
