Overview
Khaila Richards struggles with an addiction to crack. One day when she's high, she hides her crying baby Isaiah in a box in the trash in her broken neighborhood, intending to come back for him later. By the time she returns, the baby has been found and turned into a local hospital. A social worker named Margaret meets the baby. Knowing about his past, she decides to take him home and adopt him. Isaiah becomes part of the Lewin family. Meanwhile, three years pass and Khaila, now clean from drugs and trying to start a fresh life, discovers that the baby she thought dead is still alive. She hires a lawyer to try to help her get him back, raising difficult issues in the process.
