Overview
The Marquise de Merteuil is not used to being spurned by men. When one of her many lovers makes a break with her, she reacts the only way she knows how; by hatching a scheme to break his heart and ruin him. She enlists the help of her friend the Vicomte de Valmont in seducing her former lover's intended bride. The cruel machinations of the Marquise and the Vicomte ruin many lives until the unexpected happens; Valmont falls in love with one of the victims of his seduction and must now come to terms with the evil that he has done.
