Overview
Mike Flaherty (Giamatti) has heart problems, a floundering law practice, and is the coach of a wrestling team with a winless record. When a client of his (Young) is remanded to Flaherty's custody, the troubled attorney finds that the extra money allows him to make ends meet, or, at least, move them closer together. At this time, the indigent client's troubled grandson, Kyle (Shaffer), seeks him out when his mother (Lynskey) is in rehab. Flaherty takes in Kyle, who turns out to be a phenomenal wrestler, creating an atmosphere in the home and on the team that maybe things are going to be alright; maybe everyone can win. However, this all comes apart when Kyle's mother comes out of rehab and seeks to retain her son, as well as her father's assets.
