Overview
Ray Kinsella owns a farm in Iowa, where he lives with his wife and daughter. One day when he is in his cornfield, he hears "If you build it, he will come." After he hears this, he envisions a baseball field. He decides to build the field on his farm to see what happens. After waiting for a year, dead baseball players from the 1919 Chicago White Sox team appear and start playing on the field. Ray receives other messages that send him on a trip to find an author and other players from the past. Throughout all this, his brother-in-law keeps telling Ray he will go bankrupt. It all culminates in Ray's dead father coming to the field to play catch with his son.
