Overview
Paul works as a projectionist in a theater in the city of Detroit. He's reading in the dark projection booth when power goes out in the entire city. With the help of the reading lamp on his head, he discovers that the entire theater full of patrons has disappeared leaving behind heaps of their clothes. The security guard with his flashlight is the only one left besides Paul. By morning, most of the city has vanished. The city is littered with clothing. Luke Ryder wakes to find no power in his building and the city is a ghost town. He wanders the streets looking for his girlfriend. At the news stations where they both work, he finds her clothes and her ring. Ryder finds a bar where they have a backup generator. They must keep the shadows at bay because it's the darkness that kills.
