Overview
A transport ship crashes on a harsh desert world. The survivors try to find a way off the planet, while contending with an escaped prisoner who also survived the crash: Richard B. Riddick. Riddick is stronger and more lethal than average men. He also has eyes specially modified so that he can see in the dark. Although the survivors are terrified of Riddick, they soon realize that they're not alone and an even greater threat exists. In an empty mining settlement, they learn that pitch black darkness occurs every 22 years during a special eclipse resulting in the emergence of carnivorous nocturnal animals from underground. Twenty-two years have passed since the last event. Can they trust Riddick to help them navigate the darkness to safety?
