Overview
A chance encounter at a New York diner brings together a business executive and a free-spirited woman. She is able to persuade him to shirk his job responsibilities and embark upon a freewheeling trip across several states. Over the next few days, he develops an attraction to her spontaneity, a contrast from the stifling constraints of his earlier job. The two seemingly different personalities prove to be complementary, and they experience the freedom of the open road with a hint of recklessness. Their carefree journey takes a sinister turn when they are confronted by her disgruntled former spouse at a high school reunion. He later breaks into their residence in their presence and is accidentally stabbed and killed.
