Overview
Sammy and Terry Prescott are brother and sister who survived losing their parents at a young age in a car crash. Their lives have gone in totally opposite directions. Sammy resides in upstate New York and serves as a single parent to her son Rudy and refuses to tell him anything about his father. Terry has failed to put down roots, preferring to live on the run and by the moment. When he impregnates his girlfriend, he heads to New York to ask Sammy for money, and develops a surprisingly close connection to his nephew. Terry is more than willing to tell Rudy secrets about his family's heritage and his visit inspires Sammy to shake up her routine and boring lifestyle.
