Overview
Teenager Tommy Riley must deal with the fallout from his father's gambling debts when loan sharks threaten him unless he pays up. Tommy jumps at a chance to fight in an underground boxing league so he can earn money to pay off his father's debtors. He soon demonstrates a surprising skill in the sport, winning the approval of promoter Jimmy Horn. Since Tommy is reluctant to leave school for a career in boxing, Horn buys his father's debt and promises to forgive his debts if Tommy keeps fighting.
