Popeye Doyle is a police officer specializing in rounding up criminals whose activities revolve around drugs. He has been on the tail of one particular drug lord for a very long time, and he is determined to finally capture the elusive Alain Charnier and bring him to justice. He finds himself in France, where he feels out of his depth among people who speak a language he doesn't understand. It doesn't help that Doyle is paired up with Henri Barthelemy, a more buttoned-up officer who does not approve of his unorthodox tactics. Before long, Doyle finds himself drowning his sorrows in a bar, and it is there that he befriends a barman and begins to feel better about his situation and chances of catching Charnier. |
