Overview
John McLoughlin and Will Jimerno are Port Authority officers on patrol in Midtown Manhattan on September 11, 2001. They arrive at the World Trade Center and discover both towers have been hit. McLoughlin and Jimerno are preparing to enter the North Tower when the South Tower begins to collapse. McLoughlin realizes the only way to survive is to get into the service elevator shaft. He makes it along with Jimerno and Dominick Pezzulo. Pezzulo crawls to where McLoughlin and Jimerno are pinned under the rubble. Then they hear the rumble of the North Tower collapsing. Pezzulo fires his gun to try and alert rescuers, but is fatally wounded. After many hours, help finally comes, and both men are reunited with their families.
