Overview
A small town family man, Tom Stall, and his family live a quiet, happy existence in Indiana. Tom is working in the local diner one morning when two men enter the diner and attempt a robbery. Defying his apparent quiet, passive demeanor, he reacts without hesitation, successfully defending the diner and another employee and killing the two men in self defense. The incident attracts national media attention, and suddenly Tom is lauded as a hero and is thrust into a media storm. This attracts a mysterious man to the town, believing Tom to be someone with a different name and a violent, mysterious history who has committed wrongs in the past. The ensuing struggle with identity and defining family relationships leads to an unexpected conclusion.
