Ahmad Ibn Fadlan joins a group of Northmen after being banished from his home. Because of cultural differences, Ahmad is quick to judge the others in his party as barbaric, and they in turn enjoy making fun of the quiet stranger who travels with them. There even seems to be a language barrier until Ahmad reveals that he can speak their language one evening, which endears him to the group more than before. The group unites under the threat of an unknown monster who is terrorizing villages with the slaughter of any it encounters. |
