Overview
A young girl named River Tam is harboring secrets that could prove devastating to the Alliance should they ever come to light. An assassin simply named The Operative is dispatched to find and kill her. River is aboard an old cargo ship called Serenity, captained by Unification War veteran Mal Reynolds. The Operative lures them into a trap, but Mal, River and the Serenity crew manage to escape. They attempt to find safe haven with a former crew member living on a mining colony, but the colony is wiped out by the Operative. Serenity's crew must travel into the territory of the cannibalistic Reavers to learn River's secret and save her life.
