Overview
Tom Farrell is a Navy Commander who became a celebrity after a daring rescue of another sailor. He is posted to the Pentagon to work under Secretary of Defense David Price. At a cocktail party, Farrell meets the stunning beauty Susan Atwell and they begin a steamy love affair. Farrell soon discovers, however, that Atwell is also Price's mistress. Despite this revelation and the dangers it entails for both of them, Farrell falls in love with Atwell and continues seeing her. After a lustful weekend with Farrell, Atwell and Price have a fierce argument, and he accidentally kills her. Farrell is assigned to the case, and as his investigation unfolds, he realizes that he must find the real killer before he becomes the prime suspect.
