Harlan Regis is a Washington D.C. homicide detective who is called to the White House after the body of a female staffer is discovered in a bathroom. He begins his investigation into the apparent sex-crime, but soon becomes suspicious that there is something going on beneath the surface as his efforts are stymied at every turn by the Secret Service. Unable to get the evidence he needs, his investigation stalls, until friendly Agent Nina Chance agrees to help him. As an international political crisis unfolds, Regis and Chance slowly unravel the mystery of the girl's death and the motives behind it. As tension mounts and secrets are uncovered, the duo discover that the case they're working on has greater importance than either of them imagined. |
