Overview
Aspiring Jewish actor Marcel Mangel struggles to hold onto his dream of becoming a theater star instead of joining his father's butcher business. As the Nazi regime rapidly closes in to occupy France, Mangel witnesses his brother and friends working with the French Resistance to aid Jewish orphans. Bringing his talent to mime and create a respite from the trauma, Mangel initially entertains the young survivors during the ongoing crisis. When the German invasion looms nearer, Mangel and his comrades fight to create an intricate network of allies to safely evacuate thousands of refugees across borders.
