Overview
Director Robert Zemeckis presents a heartfelt look at life's special moments in Forrest Gump (1994). Tom Hanks is the title character in a movie that puts him in the middle of many historic moments, including a stint in Vietnam, while trying to win the heat of his childhood sweetheart, Jenny Curran (Robin Wright). Despite being a simple man with a low I.Q., Forrest accidentally, through the magic of special effects, finds himself meeting 20th century figures ranging from John Lennon to President Kennedy while searching for his true love. While Forrest sparks a ping-pong craze, runs across country and invites the smiley face symbol, his real goal is to win over Jenny, whose life took several wrong turns.
