Overview
Seven years ago, Dr. John Dolittle, the eccentric known for his ability to talk to animals, disappeared from public life after his wife passed away. When Queen Victoria becomes ill, Dolittle is thought to be the only person who can save her. Reluctantly, he sets sail with his animals and self-appointed apprentice, Tommy Stubbins, in search of a cure to save the Queen. He believes that he can find it on an island that has only been heard of in myths and legends. As Dolittle discovers new creatures and encounters old enemies, the journey becomes more than a chance to save a beloved monarch: It becomes a remedy for his malaise.
