Overview
The Death and Life of John F. Donovan chronicles the relationship between 12-year-old Rupert, a burgeoning actor and Donovan, a famous American television star. Donovan begins a correspondence with his young fan, which becomes public. The implications, heavily pushed by a gossip columnist, have a major impact on the actor and his life quickly spirals out of control. Ten years later, Rupert recollects his friendship with Donovan via an interview.
