Overview
The Town That Dreaded Sundown is a horror film that picks up where the 1976 version left off. The film is a fictionalized recounting of the real "Moonlight Murders" that terrorized a small Texas town in 1946. The killer was never caught. Since the film was inspired by real events, the passing of time is acknowledged, though director Ryan Murphy has fun with '70s filming styles. In the movie, the killings begin again 65 years later, and a teenage girl takes it upon herself to figure out if the killer is the same one from the past or if he is a copycat.
