Overview
Dalton Joiner is a young soldier in Vietnam, and along with his friend Mickey Wright, he decides to take a break from the war after he gets a kiss-off letter from Jane, the girl he left behind. The two young men go AWOL and head for the United States, where Dalton tries to come up with a grand gesture that will win back Jane's love. Meanwhile, Mickey begins to fall in love himself. But will they manage to get away with running away from the army?
