Losing his father to violence as a child, Malcolm was reared in foster homes and pushed toward menial jobs when his intellect was quite the opposite. As a young adult, Malcolm found himself gambling and robbing people. Being a glamorous gangster, he attracted white women as lovers. After being caught for several crimes, Malcolm meets a Muslim in prison and begins to understand his father's preachings as a child. Believing that African-Americans should return to Africa to become better people in the face of white America, Malcolm X begins his transformation into an inspirational speaker and hope for the Black community.
