Overview
Pixar's first female-led film, Brave follows the adventures of Princess Merida (Kelly Macdonald), a headstrong young woman with a talent for archery and famously ferocious hair. Despite the wish of her mother (Emma Thompson) that she settle down and find a husband, Merida chooses instead to consult a witch for a spell that will change the queen's mind. This turns out to be the beginning of a much larger problem that includes wild bears, ancient conflicts and the question of whether sticking to tradition is worth the sacrifice of a free heart. Funny, touching and with a lively heroine as strong as any Disney princess, Brave is an excellent addition to the Pixar family.
