Trailer | Overview New York City Mayor John Pappas is at the center of this story of intrigue. Kevin Calhoun is his deputy mayor. Judge Walter Stern is an old friend of the mayor's. Tino Zapatti, a paroled criminal with mob ties, in involved in a shootout with Eddie Santos, a police detective who is not on duty. A stray bullet kills a young boy during the shootout, and both shooters are killed. Calhoun then searches for answers about mob payoffs and connections that seem to be intertwined with this killing. Judge Stern's granting of probation for Zapatti is also questioned. Marybeth Cogan is a legal aid, and she tries to make sure Santos' widow gets her husband's benefits. There seems to be a smear campaign going on though, which Cogan and Calhoun soon discern. Pappas finally agrees Judge Stern must resign. Calhoun's idol the mayor is also involved, however, and Calhoun tells Pappas he must quit politics. |
