Overview
Caractacus Potts is an oddball inventor who has never had much luck getting any of his inventions to go anywhere. He creates some marvelous things, but they rarely make him any money, and his livelihood is constantly in danger. This is especially a problem because he is the widowed father of two children, and he also looks after his doddering father. One of his inventions, a candy that whistles, throws him into the acquaintance of Truly Scrumptious, the daughter of a candy maker. She becomes swept up into a grand adventure with him and the children when he succeeds in making his rickety old jalopy, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, fly. Could this be the beginning of a new and better life for all of them?
