Overview
This film follows the lives of four people who meet aboard a flight to New Zealand which was part of the 1953 London to Christchurch air race. Frank is a hunky bachelor who lost his family in World War II. Ada is a mail order bride flying to meet her husband in New Zealand. She and Frank find themselves falling in love on the flight. Esther and Marjorie are two women with opposite dilemmas. Marjorie wants children but cannot have them, while Esther is able to bear a son but wishes to have a fashion career instead. Once in New Zealand, their lives continue to weave together on occassion, and upon Frank's death, the remaining three are reunited at his funeral.
