Overview
In the year A.D. 117, the Romans are waging a fierce campaign against the ferocious guerrilla tactics of the Picts. The Roman fort at Pinnata Castra has been destroyed by the Picts, and Quintus Dias, a Roman soldier, is taken prisoner. The Roman governor of Britannia, Julius Agricola, sends the Ninth Legion, led by General Virilus, on a mission to completely annihilate the Picts. With the Ninth Legion, is a female scout named Etain. However, unknown to the Romans, Etain is really working with the Picts, and she leads the Romans into a trap where they are wiped out. Meanwhile, Dias has escaped and is being pursued by the Picts, led by the remorseless Etain, through treacherous terrain in the mountains in an attempt to get back into Roman territory
