Overview
Helen Lyle is a graduate student studying folklore when she comes across the story of Candyman. A former slave who fell in love with his master's daughter, his master and a group of men tortured and killed him after learning of their relationship. Helen delves deep into the depths of Cabrini Green, a housing project in Chicago, to learn more about the story. Though she initially doesn't believe in the story, which says that Candyman appears to those who say his name three times in the mirror, she finds herself falling deeper down the rabbit's hole as she learns more about the legend. When Helen discovers that she has a connection to that original story, she finds that Candyman wants her as his next victim and that he'll stop at nothing to get her.
