Overview
Music comes to vivid life in creative animated sequences. Each combines beautiful animation, in a particular artistic style, with a beloved piece of classical music. Leopold Stokowski conducts the Philadelphia Orchestra as the sequences unfold visual interpretations of the music. Abstract colors and shapes present Bach’s Toccata and Fugue. Fairies, flowers, and other tiny creatures dance to Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite. Comical animals perform a ballet to Ponchielli’s Dance of the Hours. Dinosaurs battle to the strains of Igor Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring. Figures from Greek mythology cavort to Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony. Spirits fly through the air and saints march to Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain and Schubert’s Ave Maria. And Mickey Mouse becomes Dukas’ Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
