Overview
A mythical Viking village on the island of Berk is plagued by attacks from dragons. Desiring acceptance into the tribe, Hiccup, the awkward son of the village chief, strives to follow tradition and become a dragon slayer. After apparently shooting down a rare Night Fury, Hiccup finds the injured animal. Rather than killing it, he befriends the dragon and names it Toothless. After gaining Toothless’ trust, Hiccup learns more about who dragons really are. Hiccup must then overcome the long held beliefs of his people in an effort to end the battle between humans and dragons while saving Toothless and other dragons from the clutches of the evil dragon Red Death, who has been causing the conflict.
