Overview
Washed-up boxer Terry Malloy works on the docks, having ruined his chances for fame after he deliberately threw a boxing match at his brother Charley's behest. Charley works for Johnny Friendly, the crooked boss of the dockworker's union. When Charley discovers that a dockworker is going to reveal Friendly's illegal activities, he convinces Terry to lure him into a deadly trap. But Terry has second thoughts about the direction his life is taking when he meets the dead man's sister and a crusading priest who is determined to shut the corrupt union down once and for all.
