Twelve-year-old Josh Framm has just suffered the worst that can happen: the death of his father in an accident, and a move to a small town in Washington where he's got to suffer all the indignities of a new kid on the block. While practicing hoops by himself on a lonely, broken-down basketball court, he meets Bud, a golden retriever with a deadly accurate nose shot. Josh makes the team at school, Bud signs on as mascot, and the two put on a spectacular halftime show that wows the crowds. Unfortunately, sidling up to every talented athlete is a dubious promoter, and when Norm Snively moves in with an offer of cash and worldwide fame, boy and dog need to stage a full-court press just to keep their friendship. |
