Arthur and Eve have three daughters. Renata is a respected poet whose husband Frederick is jealous of her talent. Flyn is a struggling actress. Joey isn't the creative type, which always makes her feel her artistic parents are disappointed in her. The whole family is thrown into a tailspin when Arthur and Eve get divorced. Arthur soon remarries a lively woman named Pearl, but the adult daughters can’t reconcile to this. They’re worried that their mother’s depression is growing worse. After a difficult day, Joey confronts her mother about how she always felt inferior to her sisters. Eve decides to drown herself. Joey tries to save her and can’t, but her father’s new wife rescues Joey in the process. |
