On Christmas Eve, prisoner Ryan Weaver is being flown to Los Angeles to stand trial for murder. Weaver stands by his claim of innocence. A prisoner named Stubbs manages to get free and starts a shootout while in the air. During the violent melee, both pilots are killed along with the Marshals. Stewardess, Teri Halloran, realizes that she must take over flying the plane to prevent it from crashing. To make matters worse, they are heading into a monster storm. Weaver is anything but reliable. He gets drunk and turns violent, which reveals his darker side. Teri must now must get the plane landed safely while fending off a crazed Weaver.
