Overview
John Spartan is a dedicated LAPD Sergeant on the trail of a villainous killer, Simon Phoenix. As part of a botched hostage situation created by Phoenix, Spartan is sentenced to a cryocell, or frozen prison, as punishment. With Phoenix finally caught, both of these men rest for several decades. At a parole hearing in 2032, Phoenix outsmarts the relaxed, modern police force and escapes. Committing crimes exponentially, Phoenix cannot be caught by the future police. As a solution, they pull Spartan from the prison and ask him to apprehend the suspect. With officer Huxley by his side, Spartan must maneuver through a futuristic world of no weapons and naive thoughts about crime and punishment. As Phoenix continues to taunt the city, it is up to Huxley and Spartan to bring the criminal down as fast as possible.
