It's summertime in Iraq and EOD teams are called up to dispose of roadside bombs. Following the loss of one team leader, a replacement comes in the form of Sergeant 1st Class James (Renner) whose incredible expertise is matched only by his recklessness. As the deployment progresses, the extent that James will go to in order to disable bombs without assistance extends beyond reasonable measure, and as this area of reason fades so does his ability to make the best decisions for himself and his team, leading to the injury of one of this subordinates. As Sergeant James returns home following his deployment, his adjustment back into civilian life is shown in his inability to locate a box of cereal in the grocery store, leading to him returning for another deployment. |
