Overview
Bored with his life in London, British journalist Thomas Fowler has taken up a nice life in Vietnam, including an easy job and a mistress. When American journalist Alden Pyle comes to Vietnam, Fowler and Pyle become friendly adversaries until Pyle shows an interest in Fowlers' girlfriend. Fowler is notified by the London office that maybe he should return to London to work and he sets about writing a story that will keep him in Vietnam. When Pyle turns up dead, Fowler is brought in by the authorities who want to find out if Fowler had anything to do with Pyle's death.
