When David Greene enrolls at St. Matthews boarding school, he brings phenomenal football skills and a secret: he's Jewish. His football abilities and charming personality win over everyone, except Charlie Dillon, who simmers when David takes his playing time and his girlfriend, Sally Wheeler. When Charlie discovers that David is Jewish, the war is on. Charlie pits all of the other players, as well as Sally, against David and attempts to frame him for cheating on an exam, an offense which carries with it an automatic explusion. A long, tense stalemate ensues in which a teacher tries to discover exactly who cheated on the exam. David is eventually exonerated and vows to stay at the school in order to get into Harvard, despite any opposition he might face.
