Overview
Arian and Ernest are two driven young university students whose professor, Dr. Malley, has urged them into making the most of their lives, leading to a mutual choice to enlist in combat operations in Afghanistan. Republican star senator Jasper Irving has arranged a meeting with left-leaning journalist Janine Roth to explain a new proposed combat tactic to potentially be used against the Taliban. The harrowing experiences of Arian and Ernest are portrayed in stark contrast to the comfort enjoyed by the politician as he eagerly informs the journalist of his new ideas to put young American lives on the line. Meanwhile, Dr. Malley attempts to educate underachiever Todd Hayes regarding the importance of his classmates' fate-sealing choices.
