Overview
"The Sound of Music" is the inspiring true story of a nun in training named Maria whose life takes an unexpected turn when she is asked to serve as a governess for the seven children of a widowed sea captain. Always a bit of a free spirit, Maria wins the rambunctious children over quickly, but their stern and distant father requires a little more finesse. This romantic Rodgers and Hammerstein collaboration is one of the most beloved musicals ever. Filmed on location in Salzburg, Austria, it features stunning scenery that perfectly complements the harmonic music. The multiple Academy Award winner is packed with some of the most memorable songs ever committed to screen, including "Do Re Mi," "Climb Ev'ry Mountain," "My Favorite Things" and "Eidelweiss."
