Overview
New York Times journalist Sydney Schanberg is covering the civil war in Cambodia when he meets Dith Pran and documents the atrocities of the Khmer Rouge. Pran sends his family to America as American military forces leave the area, but stays himself to continue documenting the war. Schanberg leaves Cambodia and goes back to the United States, leaving his friend behind. Although he later tries to find Pran, he cannot locate his friend. Pran must find his own way out of Cambodia to be reunited with his family back in the states.
